There are five distinct naming styles illustrated here, each of which
appears genuine and contemporary with the Stars. Multiple examples of the naming styles seen
on the Stars of Flynn and Jarrett are known. The naming of Blanchard's 1884-6 Star matches that of Jarrett's 1882 Star but with the "C.T.C." absent and with the later addition of "A S G [sic]". Sgt. Raeburn appears on the medal roll of the gloriously named "Unattached Detachment" of the CTC.
