Almost all the Stars known to this battalion are named in the style of the awards to Lowery and Pierpoint. Machine-engraved naming in running script has so far only been recorded on the Stars to Allen, Nettleton and Oldham. The Star to Allen, however, is found in a complete group, including MBE and KPM, which adds weight to claims for the authenticity of this style of naming.
